How We Began
In December of 2022, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, God sovereignly brought together two couples (the Kiamas & Leslies) that, without knowledge of the other, had been praying about the possibility of planting just such a church in Nairobi.
A core team of three couples (Kiamas, Leslies, Geletas) arrived in Nairobi in Aug/Sept 2024 and quickly grew. Sovereign Grace Church Nairobi held its first worship service on January 5, 2025 in the Leslie’s garage, where it continues to meet until a larger venue is found in the Westlands area of Nairobi.
Our Vision
We desire to see more and more people live in the good of the gospel—understanding that the grace of Christ that saves them is the same grace that sustains them and trains them to grow like Jesus. Our passion is to plant Bible-preaching, gospel-centered, pastor-equipping churches that proclaim the life-transforming good news of Jesus throughout Nairobi and beyond.
